(SBU) Pol Chief delivered reftel points and questions on
February 12 to MFA Director General for UN and Multilateral
Affairs Aruni Wijewardhana. DCM and Econ Chief followed up
on February 19. Wijewardhana acknowledged the points and
promised to study them carefully and respond. However, she
indicated that Sri Lanka's need as host to prepare for the
31st Ministerial Meeting of the South Asian Association for
Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in Colombo on February 27-28
would prevent her from providing a substantive answer before
the deadline stated in reftel.
