SUBJECT: MOLDOVA UNABLE TO RELEASE HELICOPTERS FOR PAKISTAN

(SBU) In response to reftel request to contact host government
regarding air assets for Pakistan, we contacted Ministry of Defense
(MOD) officials on June 2, 2009. The MOD noted that six of their
helicopters are now in Afghanistan under civilian contract, and the
remaining two are required in Moldova for VIP travel and disaster
response.
