1. (C) On September 14, Poloff delivered reftel talking
points concerning a common position towards Iran at the IAEA
and the UNGA to Wendy Walsh, Executive Officer, Arms Control
Section, and Jenny Bloomfield, Director of the Middle East
Section, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
2. (C) Walsh stated that the GOA urged Iran to accept the
P5 1 April invitation to meet with the group to discuss
mutual concerns. Australia agrees that Iran continues to
defy multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions and
refuses to fully cooperate with the IAEA on its investigation
into Iran's nuclear program, despite a recent show of minimal
cooperation.
