SUBJECT: NEW DUMPING APPLICATION: SILICONE EMULSION
CONCRETE ADMIXTURE
1. (U) In a letter dated July 29, Australian Customs and
Border Protection Service (CBPS) informed
Embassy it had received an application, dated July 22,
requesting that the Minister for Home Affairs publish a
dumping duty notice regarding silicone emulsion concrete
admixture produced in the U.S. and exported to Australia.
2. (SBU) CBPS confirmed to Econoff that on August 11 it
decided to approve the application. The decision, however,
has not yet been made public. A formal notice will be
published on Friday, August 14 in the Australian Gazette and
the CBPS website. The notice should include further details
about the decision and the initiation of an investigation.
