1. Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (CBPS) informed
Embassy that it's investigation into alleged dumping of linear low
density polyethylene (LLDP) from the US and Canada (Reftel) has
progressed to the verification stage. CBPS will carry out
"on-the-spot verification" of information provided to it by Nova
Chemicals and Dow Chemical.
2. In a letter dated July 16, CBPS notified Embassy that Nova
Chemicals has agreed to a verification visit on August 29-31, 2009
at the company's US location: 1550 Coraopolis Heights Road, Moon
Township, Pennsylvania 15108. Separately, in a letter dated July
22, CBPS notified Embassy that The Dow Chemicals Company has agreed
to a verification visit on August 5-18 August, 2009 at the company's
US location: 2030 Dow Center, Midland, Michigan 48674.
