1. (SBU) June 10, Peter Waddell-Wood, Director of the
Afghanistan/Pakistan Task Force at AusAID told POLOFF that
Foreign Minister Smith plans to announce sometime before June
17 a further Australian contribution of AUD $5 million (USD
$4.04 million) to the IDP crisis in Pakistan. The World Food
Program will receive AUD $4.4 million. The remaining AUD $
600,000 will go to the Australian NGO RedR, which provides
volunteer engineers to UNICEF and UNHCR for set-up and
maintenance of housing units and sanitation systems.
