1. (SBU) On June 1, POLOFF conveyed to Lisa Rice-Madan,
Director of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Central Asian Republics
Section, at Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)
the gratitude of the USG for Australia's USD $9.2 million
contribution to the IDP crisis in Pakistan.
2. (SBU) Ms Rice-Madan assured POLOFF that Australia
continues to monitor developments in Pakistan and is
exploring possible further avenues of aid. Australia is very
much aware of the present funding gap estimated by the UN for
Pakistan's refugee crisis.
