(SBU) PolOff met June 30 with the Argentine Foreign Ministry's
Sub-Director for International Security, Nuclear and Space Affairs
(DIGAN),Alberto Dojas, to deliver reftel demarche. Dojas said that
the MFA's legal department was considering all aspects of the
obligations created under UNSCR 1874 and how they should be put into
practice by different entities of the GOA. Dojas emphasized that
the fact that the obligations emerged from a UNSC Resolution gave
them immediate legal legitimacy from the Argentine perspective and
Argentina would fulfill its obligations if the situation were to
arise.
