1. (C) Political Officer spoke June 12 with Dr. Carlos
Cherniak in the Argentine Foreign Ministry's Directorate for
International Security, Nuclear and Space Affairs (DIGAN),to
deliver Ref A demarche. Cherniak was familiar with the
Director General's latest reports on Iran and Syria and said
that Argentina would follow its past line, working closely
with Europe and calling publicly for cooperation by both
countries with the IAEA.
2. (SBU) Cherniak was in the process of finalizing MFA
instructions and will be traveling to Vienna for the June
15-19 Board of Governors meeting.
