(SBU) On November 12, Econoff delivered reftel points to Dr. Szilvia Balazs from the MFA's International and EU Public Law Department; Dr. Andrea Kadar, Head of Unit of the MFA's Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) Strategic Issues Dept; and to Dr. Krisztina Kovacs, Head of Unit of the Ministry of Finance's Department of International Relations. Dr. Balazs thanked Econoff for the information on U.S. designations of DPRK entities and individuals, and indicated she would review it with relevant GOH agencies. She told Econoff she would inform the embassy of any decision taken with respect to these individuals and entities. (Note: Hungary does not maintain a national list. Designation of these entities and individuals must occur at the EU level to have legal effect in Hungary. However, information on U.S. designations is routinely distributed to Hungary's financial intelligence unit (FIU) and to financial institutions through the Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority (HFSA).
