1. The following responses are keyed to reftel questions.

--The Government of Hungary is expected to receive U.S.
foreign assistance using FY 09 funds. This funding includes
Foreign Military Financing (FMF) and International Military
Education and Training (IMET) assistance.

--Hungary's central budget is available on-line and in
printed form on request from the Ministry of Finance.

--The publicly available budget includes both income and
expenditures.

--In general, the budget accurately reflects government
expenditures and income. The budget must be submitted to the
Parliament for approval. Under Hungarian law, if the deficit
(or surplus) exceeds the original deficit target by more than
2.5 percent of the total budget expenditure target, a budget
modification must be submitted to Parliament.
