1. (C) In a recent follow-up conversation regarding Ref A
demarche on Union of Good, to which we have not yet received
a formal EU response, a contact close to the EU's autonomous
terrorist designations process anticipated that the EU will
be reluctant to join the U.S. in an autonomous designation.
Contact expected that the EU would probably request
supplementary information from the USG, similar to the EU's
response on Venezuela-based Hizballah financiers (see Refs B
and C). USEU will report any formal EU reply regarding Union
of Good when received.
