1. (U) On April 17, 2009, Embassy Bridgetown received
diplomatic note number 212/09 from the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs in St. Kitts and Nevis informing the Embassy that
"the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis no longer produces
sugar and will therefore not be in a position to benefit from
the TRQ regime offered. Further, there has been no
reallocation of the sugar quota." St. Kitts and Nevis will
not request a quota allocation for sugar, and can be expected
not/not to participate in the program in future years.
