UNCLAS BRAZZAVILLE 000085 LABOR FOR CHARITA CASTOR LABOR FOR LEYLA STROTKAMP E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: EIND ELAB ETRD PHUM SOCI CF SUBJECT: CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE REPORT ON FORCED LABOR AND CHILD LABOR IN THE PRODUCTION OF GOODS REF: STATE 21472 ¶1. The Republic of Congo-Brazzaville (ROC) is not an industrialized economy and production of goods for both export and domestic use is very limited. The natural resources economic sector (oil and timber)is largely controlled by foreign investors which adhere firmly to labor laws and do not have forced or child labor. There is no broad agricultural sector in existence at this time. ¶2. With the exception of a brewery and small handicraft enterprises, there are no goods extracted/produced for domestic consumption.
