SECSTATE 28929 ¶1. (SBU) Charge delivered ref A and B paper and points to Peter Burian, Slovakia's Ambassador to the United States, during a meeting in Bratislava on March 27. Poloff delivered ref A paper and points to Lucia Marcisiakova, Afghanistan Coordinator in MFA's Security Policy Department on March 27; and by email to Major Peter Sliacky, GS J3 at the Slovak MoD on March 30. We have also passed copies to both President Gasparovic's and Prime Minister Fico's foreign policy advisors. ¶2. (SBU) All interlocutors appreciated the direct communication and consultations that went into the Afghanistan Pakistan Strategic Review, but none offered any detailed comments. Marcisiakova included the White Paper in Foreign Minister Lajcak's briefing book ahead of the March 30 conference on Afghanistan in the Hague.
