On February 20 EconOff delivered copies of reftel invitation
letter and diplomatic note to Patricia Cortes, Director of
North American Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
(MFA). Cortes told EconOff on March 9 that the MFA had not
yet decided who would attend, but that the likely candidates
are Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaime Bermudez or
Vice-Minister Clemencia Forero. On March 10, MFA Director
for Economic & Environmental Affairs Yadir Salazar requested
a list of other confirmed Latin American attendees, to assist
the MFA in its decision. EconOff forwarded the GOC request
via unclassified email to OES/FO Elizabeth Colton and OES/OPA
Robert Hughes on March 11 and will await a response to
provide to the MFA.
