(SBU) Poloff discussed the message in ref A on March 30 with Didier Chassot, Regional Coordinator for South-Eastern Europe at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). Chassot informed poloff that Switzerland plans to file a brief with the ICJ "making a broad case" in support of Kosovo independence. He said that he thought that the FDFA's legal department may have been in touch with colleagues in some other European countries regarding the brief, and offered to pass along to the FDFA's legal department the contact information for an appropriate point-of-contact on this issue at the Department.
