(S) On August 11, EconOff delivered ref A non-paper to MFA
Export Control Division Desk Officer Nancy Reck encouraging
Germany to investigate a possible Iranian attempt to acquire
German-origin specialty aluminum and titanium alloys via the
UAE for their cruise and tactical missile programs. Reck
said she would deliver the non-paper to the appropriate
export control authorities at the German Federal Office of
Economics and Export Control (BAFA) and report back any
findings. Post will report any substantive
German response septel.
