1. (S) Post delivered the host nation notification regarding
the return of 192 vacant housing units in the U.S. Army
Europe's Mark Twain Village Housing area in Heidelberg,
Germany and the relocation of several units from Schweinfurt
to Grafenwhr. Poloff delivered the letters at 1100 local
time on April 16 to MFA North AMERICA Desk Officer Hildegard
Bentele, and USAREUR liaison officer delivered the letters to
MoD legal assistant Kanler in the office of State Secretary
Peter Wichert at 1000 local time on April 17. Kanler stated
that he would brief Wichert and forward the notification to
the addressee, Hildegard Jessen, in Bonn per existing MoD
procedures. Therefore, the consultation period begins today,
April 17, 2009.
