SUBJECT: SERBIA INFORMED OF APRIL GICNT MEETING IN KOREA

(SBU) Branka Latinovic, the Head of the MFA Directorate for Weapons
Control, received a jointly delivered demarche on March 12 from
Petar Frolov, Counselor of the Russian Embassy and POLOFF.
Latinovic indicated that Serbia would not be able to attend either
the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism (GICNT) workshop
on April 14-15 or the meeting on April 16 due to financial
limitations. On a related note, Latinovic indicated that Serbia
would participate in the 5th Plenary Meeting of the GICNT meeting on
June 16-17 in The Hague. However, she stated that the Dutch have
not yet provided Serbia a formal invitation.
