1. (S) On February 17, Chinese MFA International
Organizations and Conferences Department UN Division Deputy
Director Shen Yinyin informed POLOFF that China agrees to
proceed with the co-sponsorship of the separate UNSC
Resolution 1267 listing request of Eastern Turkestan Islamic
Party leader Abdul Haq. She confirmed the accuracy of the
information in the revised statement of case. Deputy
Director Shen said China will coordinate efforts with the
United States in New York to seek co-sponsors of and support
for the designation proposal.
