(SBU) On September 22, Post conveyed to the MFA, under the Ambassador's cover letter, reftel invitation from President Obama to PRC President Hu Jintao to attend the September 23 event at UN headquarters to honor top contributors of troops and police contingents to UN peacekeeping operations. Following up the invitation, PolOff highlighted to MFA International Organizations and Conferences Department UN Affairs Division Deputy Director Shen Yinyin that the event would be conducted at the Head of State/Head of Government level only, that the goal was a substantive and interactive discussion rather than consecutive formal remarks, and that each Head of State/Government should limit his/her intervention to no more than two minutes. Shen said she would ensure the information was conveyed to appropriate officials. HUNTSMAN
