¶1. (C) We spoke to MFA Peace, Security and Disarmament
Division Deputy Director Pattarat Hongtong April 8 to
underscore reftel U.S. response to North Korea's missile
launch and the President's statement, which we had shared
with FM Kasit's personal aide and the Director of the North
American Division on April 5. The MFA was in the process of
drafting a statement, Pattarat said, which would likely
reflect proliferation concerns raised in UNSCR 1718.
¶2. (C) We will follow up with these and other officials and
report further RTG response to the launch.
