(SBU) Econoff delivered reftel talking points to Ms. Kanwana
Hemkamon, Department of International Economic Affairs, Ministry of
Foreign Affairs (MFA),on June 16. Ms. Hemkamon stated that
Thailand is not a member of the International Renewable Energy
Agency (IRENA),but that the Ministry of Energy (MOE) has been
tasked with reviewing IRENA and the implications of joining the
organization. The Thai government has not established a timeline to
complete its review. According to Ms. Hemkamon, Thailand does not
plan on sending a representative to the IRENA meeting in Cairo on
June 28-30.
