CDA emphasized the need for Iran to take up President Obama and the P5 1 offer of engagement. CDA urged Brunei's support on these issues. Ms. Chong did not indicate that Brunei's position regarding Iran has changed nor that the Government of Brunei (GoB) will openly or privately support the USG positions. GoB officials have, in the past, told Embassy that the GoB is hopefully that Iran would fully comply with international standards and norms. However, the GoB generally will follow the lead of other ASEAN nations and the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) in regards to Iran. MCINTYRE
