DCM delivered reftel demarche on April 10 to Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Secretary General Baba Al-Maamoun Keita, one
day after the appointment of a new Economy and Finance
Minister. Secretary General Keita acknowledged that
questions about UN membership were not applicable to
international financial institutions, but did not otherwise
make a commitment about Mali,s voting intentions. He said
he believed the new Economy and Finance Minister, Sanoussi
Toure, would attend the meetings.
