¶1. (SBU) On December 4, Poloff discussed ref points on U.S. views
on the DPRK Universal Periodic Review with Elias Photopoulos,
Director of the MFA D4 Directorate of Human Rights. Photopoulos
said Greece fully agreed with U.S. views and that he had instructed
the Greek mission to the UN to ask similar questions and make
similar recommendations during the Universal Periodic Review
session--given an opportunity. Since Greece was no longer a member
of the UN Human Rights Council, Photopoulos noted, his delegation
would coordinate with other EU members accordingly.
¶2. (U) ACTION REQUEST: As Greece is no longer a member of the UN
Human Rights Council, Post requests that Washington revise the
addressee list for future HRC demarche request cables as
appropriate.
