1. (SBU) On December 1, Poloff discussed ref points on U.S.
dialogue with Burma with Ambassador Charalambos Dafaranos, Director
of the MFA A10 Directorate for Asia and Oceania. Dafaranos said
Greece fully agreed with U.S. views on the necessity of a
legitimate 2010 election, for dialogue between Aung San Suu Kyi and
the Government of Burma, and the full inclusion of opposition
parties and ethnic minorities in Burma's political processes.
Dafaranos said Greece would continue to support the EU consensus on
Burma policy.

2. (SBU) Dafaranos stated that Greece's Ambassador to Thailand is
also accredited to Burma. Greece does not have an Embassy in
Burma.
