(SBU) We delivered REFTEL demarche to MFA UN desk officer
Turhan Dilmac, June 8. Dilmac responded that the GOT has a
mutual support agreement with Germany and Greece to vote for
their ICSC candidates in exchange for their support in other
UN elections. The MFA has not yet decided between Ms. Myers
and the Italian candidate, but will consider both on their
merits. Dilmac noted, however, that the GOT is looking for
support for Ambassador Uzumcu, their candidate to the
Director General position in the Executive Council of the
Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
