1. DCM delivered reftel points on the preparatory work for
the Durban Review Conference on February 18 to Hasan Gogus,
MFA Director General for International Organizations. Gogus
welcomed USG re-engagement in the process and its new
approach to the Durban Conference; he was receptive of our
concerns for the conference. He commented that the Geneva
conference could achieve little without a US presence.
