(S) Polchief delivered points in reftel on April 15 to the
Foreign Minister's Office Director Nabil Masarweh, who took
notes and asked questions about the E3 Plus 3 approach.
Masarweh stated that he would pass the points to Foreign
Minister Nasser Judeh, who was expected to return later in
the evening from an official trip to Japan before joining the
King on his official visit to Washington. While Masarweh did
not provide an official response, he offered his carefully
caveated personal view that any approach to Iran should
include the requirement of ending support to Hamas and
Hizballah. Ambassador intends to further engage the FM on
the margins of the Washington meetings.
