(SBU) PolOff on March 16 delivered demarche and points
contained in reftel A on U.S. plans regarding Manas Air Base
to Mohammed Ensour, in the Foreign Minister's Private Office.
Ensour offered no comment and said he would convey the
message to the European Department. Ambassador subsequently
delivered the demarche on March 18 to Chief of the Royal
Court Nasser Al-Lozi,who backed the USG approach and
reconfirmed Jordan's willingness to support U.S. efforts in
Afghanistan as outlined in reftel B.
