Dr. Tayseer Al-Noaimi to become a member of the UNESCO Executive Committee during the elections to be held during the 35th UNESCO Convention later this year. Below is the full text of the dipnote as translated by Post: BEGIN DIPNOTE TEXT: Foreign Ministry Ref: 10/272/7896 Date: February 24, 2009 The Foreign Ministry of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan sends its greetings to the Embassy of the United States of America, and is honored to inform you that the Government of Jordan has decided to nominate H.E. Dr. Tayseer Al-Noaimi, Minister of Education/President of the Jordanian National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science, to be the member of the Executive Committee of UNESCO in the elections that will take place in Paris in October of this year, during the 35th UNESCO Convention. The Government of Jordan is convinced of this nomination, due to the special expertise and qualifications that Dr. Al-Noaimi has, and due to the special relationship between the two countries, the GOJ wishes to have the support of the U.S. Government.
