(S) Post has delivered points reftel to diffrent
interlocutors ranging from the Royal Court to the various
desk offices in the MFA. GOJ is firmly committed to Iraq's
sovereignty and territorial integrity, and has provided
substantive and crucial economic, political, and military
support to the GOI. GOJ maintains full diplomatic relations
with Iraq and has strongly supported Iraq's reintegration
into the wider Arab world; King Abdullah II went to Iraq on
state visit in 2006. Iraq-Jordan trade is substantial and the
GOJ continues work on various bilateral trade and investment
accords. GOJ's immediate response to the recent attacks in
Baghdad was to evacuate and treat injured Iraqis in Jordan.
In short, GOJ's commitment to a stable and inclusive Iraq was
not shaken by the recent spate of violence.
