1. In response to reftel, the Government of Algeria (GOA)
has no objection to the use of Tamanrasset Airport as an
emergency landing site (ELS) for Space Shuttle launch
STS-125. Post likewise has no objection.
2. Contact information for the air traffic control tower
(ACTC) at Tamanrasset is still pending from the GOA. Per our
telephone conversation, we will pass information soonest via
email to Shari Kamm of NASA.
3. Please note that Embassy Point of Contact (POC) for the
launch of STS-125 has changed to the following:
