1. (U) In response to ref A, MFA U.S. desk officer Ali
Drouiche confirmed on March 14 that Algeria will provide
approximately USD 200 million for reconstruction efforts in
Palestinian territories, to be channeled through its
membership in the Arab League. As reported in ref B, Algeria
has already provided in-kind aid to Gaza, such as equipment,
blood supplies and doctors.
2. (C) Algeria previously confirmed its annual USD 50 million
contribution to the Palestinian Authority (ref B). We were
told in February that USD 26 million had already been
transferred to the Arab League for PA budget support.
