(SBU) In response to reftel demarche seeking information on
Getachew Engida, the ethnic Ethiopian nominated by UNESCO to
succeed Ms Ahlenius at the UN Office of Internal Oversight
Services, Abebow Feleke, MFA's Deputy Director of the Office
of International Organizations told Deputy Pol/Econ
Counselor, "Oh yeah, I think I know who you mean." The
Government of Ethiopia clearly has not decided as yet to
mount a campaign on behalf of Getachew's candidacy. Abebow
had no CV and no further opinion to offer.
