PRESIDENT
On January 16 Ambassador Simon paid a farewell call on
Ethiopia's President Girma. The brief meeting was ceremonial
in nature. President Girma did, however, take the
opportunity to suggest the Ambassador could play a valuable
role as a "goodwill" ambassador for Ethiopia in Washington,
where "Ethiopia has many enemies."
