UNCLAS ACCRA 000631 DEPT FOR AF/EPS CTRIMBLE PLEASE PASS TO USAID FOR AFRP/DP SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: EAID ECON GH SUBJECT: Ghana: Special Self-Help final obligation report (FY07 and FY08) ¶1. Post's USD 40,000 Special Self-Help Fund (FY08) allocations have been awarded to 2 projects listed below. Grants were allocated under three elements: Water Supply and Sanitation (1 project); and Social Assistance (6 projects). Geographic distribution of projects by region is as follows: Central (2); Northern (2); Upper West (1); Volta (1); Western (1). All 7 projects target deprived communities in great need of the benefits each project will provide. An additional USD 50,000 PEPFAR Fund (FY08) allocation has been awarded to 2 projects using the SSH Model to support the fight against HIV/AIDS. ¶2. For the projects that will construct school blocks, post obtained written confirmation of the GOG's commitment to provide teachers for the additional classrooms.
