(C) Per reftel, PolOff delivered the demarche to Dr. Kojo Assan, Director, International Organizations and Multilateral Bureau at the Ghana MFA. Assan said that to his knowledge no financial institutions related to the DPRK have a presence in Ghana. Poloff identified the three new DPRK entities designated as subject to sanctions by UNSCR 1718 and asked if these specific companies are operating in Ghana. Dr. Assan replied that he has not/not heard of any DPRK companies conducting business in his country but would liaise with the Ministry to Trade and Industry to confirm what he believes to be true.
