U.S. Mission Nigeria is pleased to nominate FSN Taiwo Isijola for the 2009 Environment, Science, Technology, and Health (ESTH) course (PE 221) to be offered April 27 - May 8, 2009 at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI). Taiwo is a newly-hired member of post's State economic team whose portfolio includes managing and reporting on ESTH issues. The ESTH course will strengthen Taiwo's interviewing, drafting, briefing and analytical skills on Environmental, Science, Technology and Health related issues. It will also enable her to network with colleagues from other missions and Washington offices as well as broaden her understanding of the workings of the U.S. government, particularly the Department of State. ¶2. Education, experience and current responsibilities: -- Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Cardiff University, Wales, United Kingdom. -- B.Sc in Economics from University of Lagos, Nigeria. -- In the past five years, Taiwo worked for the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) handling administrative issues. She joined the embassy's economic section in December 2008. -- Taiwo's responsibilities are to analyze and report on Nigeria's environment, science, technology and health related issues. In addition, she covers economic issues related to industry and infrastructure. Recently, Taiwo represented the U.S. Mission at the inauguration of the Nigerian House of Representatives Committee on Climate Change and drafted a cable. ¶J.
