Reftel requested that post conduct a post-shipment verification at Amiran Trading Company, Jebal Ali Free Zone, Dubai, UAE for Instruments relating to measuring ionizing radiation and related parts and articles exported as No License Required by Bird Electronic Corporation of Solon, Ohio. ¶2. Export Control Officer (ECO) was unable to locate or establish contact with Amiran Trading. The Dubai Chamber has a registration for an Amiran Trading but no contact information is provided whatsoever. The contact numbers appear to be disconnected. Additionally, there is no registration for this company at the Jebal Ali Freezone. Post notes that Amiran Trading was the subject of two previous PSVs: 1) March 2002 BIS Safeguards Team visit and 2) ECO O'Brien PSV (See Reftel B) in which extreme caution was recommended based on information that Amiran was diverting radios and other police equipment to the Iranian Military. On Mar 11, 2009 ECO attempted to locate Amiran based on information from the 2004 visit but was still unable to locate the firm after searching for nearly two hours. ¶3. Based on the circumstances outlined above, Post considers Amiran Trading Company to be an unreliable recipient of U.S. origin items. OLSON
