(SBU) On October 15, Post received a diplomatic note (informal translation in para 3) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announcing the UAE's decision to re-candidate its representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) within the third category for the period 2010-2013. ¶2. (SBU) Background: Capt. Aysha Al Hamili is the current UAE representative to ICAO, having filled the position in the summer of ¶2009. Al Hamili is the UAE's first female transport pilot and formerly an Air Transport Manager in the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
