1. (C) On January 18, Econoff shared reftel points with the
Polish government regarding USG plans to submit the names of
four LeT operatives to the UN 1267 sanctions committee.
Econoff met seperately with representiatives from the Polish
Ministry of Finance's Department of Financial Information,
and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Department of Security
Policy.
2. (C) Both ministries appreciated the information but had
no immediate reaction. The MFA official, Marian Siemakowicz,
was interested in additional background information on LeT
and what other countries had the group on their national
terrorist lists. Econoff provided this background
information and named eight countries.
