1. (C) On February 1, Econoff shared reftel points with the
Polish government regarding USG plans to submit the names of
four Syria-based terrorist facilitators to the UN 1267
Sanctions Committee. Econoff met separately with Elzbieta
Frankow-Jaskiewicz from the Polish Ministry of Finance's
Department of Financial Information, and with Marian
Siemakowicz and Grzegorz Majewski at the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs' Department of Security Policy.
2. (C) Both ministries appreciated the information but had
no immediate substantive reaction. Majewski said that the
USG could expect to get full cooperation from Poland on the
issue as per usual, but noted that this was somewhat limited
since Poland was not an elected member of the UN Security
Council. Siemakowicz wanted to know if the USG had
discovered any assets related to the four individuals in the
U.S.
