(C) Post discussed reftel points with MFA Head of Programs
and Projects Division Virginija Umbrasiene, who said honestly
she is not confident the GOL will be able to contribute to
Pakistan this year. She explained that Pakistan is not a
designated "priority" country for Lithuanian assistance this
year. Money is therefore only available after spending
commitments have been met in actual GOL "priority" countries
such as Georgia and Afghanistan. She did say the GOL
understands the role an unstable Pakistan plays in
neighboring Afghanistan, and that it still will consider the
request.
