(S) On May 14, Acting EconPol Counselor delivered reftel
background and identifiers to Elisabeth Ottawa from the
Ministry of Finance's Money Laundering and Terrorist
Financing Unit, noting that the USG intended to submit the
names of the three individuals to the UN 1267 Sanctions
Committee. Acting EconPol Counselor added that the USG would
appreciate Austrian co-sponsorship. Ottawa promised to
forward our request to the Austrian Mission to the UN. She
also promised not to disclose reftel information publicly or
privately until the designation.
