PROPOSAL FOR REVISION TO ANIMAL PATHOGEN CONTROL LIST

(SBU) EconUnit Chief delivered reftel non-paper on March 29
to Helmut Krehlik, Head of the Ministry of Economics' Export
and Import Control Division, and the GoA's representative on
the Australia Group. Krehlik said he would consult with the
Ministry of Health, but he did not anticipate any GoA
opposition to the U.S. proposal to revise the definition for
highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) currently used in
the AG's animal pathogen control list.
