Inguanez, MFA Director-General for Economic Affairs. Inguanez
said that Malta favors EU enlargement in principle and is
committed to Turkey's accession to the EU. He emphasized
that Turkey must continue the reform process as they want
"Turkey firmly anchored in the West's values." Inguanez
expressed his appreciation for the U.S. views on the matter
and added that as this was "a precarious situation" Malta
would consult with their EU partners to work towards a common
position on accession negotiations.
