1. ACTION REQUEST: USUN requests instructions from the
Department on whether to join consensus on a decision of the
UNGA Sixth Committee to approve draft statutes for the UN
Dispute Tribunal and the UN Appeals Tribunal (contained in
Ref A) and a letter sending the statutes to the Fifth
Committee for its consideration. (For background on the
negotiation process see Refs B-F.) The Sixth Committee
expects to take action on this item on Tuesday, October 21.
